There Have Been False Rumors Spread Concerning ICE Raids During This Pandemic

Video Transcribed:  Rumors of ICE raids during the COVID-19 outbreak. I am Immigration attorney Ted Hasse at Wirth Law Office. We can be reached at 918-879-1681. We’re answering questions that people may have related to immigration and this outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

One of the concerns that we have here is there is a lot of inaccurate information being circulated, and potentially damaging inaccurate information. One of those rumors that seems to be spreading is that there is a stepped up effort at Immigration Enforcement, including ICE raids.

And what I want to say about that is that, first and foremost, there doesn’t seem to be any evidence at all that that’s occurring anywhere in the United States, and it is certainly not happening in the state of Oklahoma right now.

To the best of our knowledge, all indications are from USCIS, ICE, federal government officials that this is not a period of time where agency officials are focused on increased enforcement. And in fact, for the most part, most deportations… Deportations in most cases are on hold right now.
