The 2-2-3 Schedule Is a 50/50 Plan
Video Transcribed: What is a 2-2-3 schedule in an Oklahoma family law case? I’m Tulsa Family Law Attorney, James Wirth and we’re talking about visitation schedules. And the 2-2-3 schedule is a 50/50 plan, meaning that each parent gets an equal amount of time with the kids. And it’s a good plan for young kids where you want a 50/50 schedule.
It’s not as good for older kids, simply because it has more exchanges. For older kids, the week-on-week-off plan may be better, but for younger kids, so that they’re not away from either parent for more than three days, a 2-2-3 plan is pretty good.
So under the 2-2-3 plan, it goes two days with one parent, two days with the other parent. And then the first parent gets the weekend. And then it’s the reverse, two days, two days and then that parent gets the weekend.
So in the end, they’re each getting an equal amount of time and an equal number of weekends because they’re alternating weekends. So they each get a good amount of good time and also school time with the kids. And they get an equal amount of time with the kids and the kids are never away from each parent for more than three days. So it’s a really good schedule for a 50/50 plan for young kids.
