Give Your Attorney Every Detail, Even if It’s Small
Video Transcribed: What does my attorney need to know after my car wreck? Hey, everyone. Christopher Stevens here, a certified paralegal with the Wirth Law Office in Tulsa, specializing in personal injury law in Oklahoma.
Today, we’re going to be talking about some basic things that your attorney would need whenever you discuss your car wreck with them. Now, of course, there’s very basic information such as, “Here’s the insurance that I had, the other person had.” If you have any health insurance, they would need to know that as well, maybe a copy of your driver’s license. But there are also a lot of things that clients just offhand don’t think about telling their attorney.
For instance, say your injury prevented you from maybe going and seeing your child’s baseball game, or playing with your kids in the backyard, or going to a family gathering, things like this that a lot of people say it’s not related to a broken bone, but there are still items that compose or make up your damages. And a lot of the time, that’s stuff that the attorney needs to know. And honestly, having more information is always better for your attorney. So it isn’t just the concrete things of your medical providers, like we said, insurance, things of that nature, but also just letting your attorney know everything that has been impacted as a result of your personal injury matter.
