Oklahoma City Municipal Court Is Continuing Its Warrant Amnesty Program
Video Transcribed: Warrant amnesty in Oklahoma City Municipal Court. I’m Oklahoma attorney James Wirth, talking about a news story that indicates that the Oklahoma City Municipal Court is continuing its warrant amnesty program that started back in 2019.
It is back on again, and it’s in place until June 30th of this year. What that means is that if you have an outstanding warrant from Oklahoma City Municipal Court, now may be the best time to get that resolved.
So if you were in that court, you maybe entered a plea deal, had a payment plan. You failed to make a payment, a warrant was issued. They add fees and costs on top of that, and then you could get picked up and arrested and brought in.
But if you get it taken care of now, you may be able to reduce those costs pursuant to this per program and may be able to get it resolved without actually having to be arrested on that warrant.
So, this video is to let you know that that is back on. If you have a warrant out of Oklahoma City Municipal Court, you may want to look into that. It is specifically for Class A offenses, so that is low-level misdemeanors and traffic offenses in Oklahoma.
So you’re going to want to find out if that applies to you because now may be the best time to get it taken care of. But if you’ve got any questions about that, you’re going to want to talk to an attorney about that privately, confidentially. You can get that scheduled by going online to makelaweasy.com.
